TRADITIONAL MEASURES
Effective protection requires action before a potential threat crosses the perimeter. However, traditional fence- and gate-mounted sensors and people-centered services provide little advance warning of an impending breach. They do not reveal from where the threat came or where it is headed. In addition, they generally cannot distinguish between vehicles, people and projectiles, and they cannot identify friends or foes.

In today’s ever changing security environment, first responders, security officials and military personnel all face similar threats. Weapons of mass destruction, such as chemical, biological or nuclear threats, as well as improvised explosive devices, pose a threat to civilian, commercial and military targets alike. Fast and accurate detection, identification and tracking of intruders is necessary, not only to interdict the target, but also to assess the potential hazard and necessary response.

The CBRNE detection devices from ICx Technologies are compact, portable and simple to use compared to laboratory instruments that perform similar functions, while being more rugged and affordable.CHEMICAL DETECTION
ICx develops and manufactures specific detection technologies for chemical warfare agents as well as toxic industrial chemicals and materials. Our point detectors are cost effective and can conduct surface, solid and liquid interrogation of unknown chemical agents as well as assist in the decontamination process after an incident has occurred. Our transportable GC/MS instruments are suitable for any mobile lab and can be used with a smaller air sampler that is light enough to be feasible for use inside the hot zone.
BIOLOGICAL DETECTION
Biological detection is one of the hardest components to address in any security environment due to the evolving nature of the threat. ICx offers a continuously operating facility air monitor for detecting bio-terror agents. Used as part of a detection suite that can be tied into the facility’s heating and cooling system, this solution allows security officials to accurately and cost effectively manage their threat risk. After a known event has occurred, ICx also offers fully decontaminable sampling devices for pinpointing the specific threat agent.
RADIATION DETECTION
ICx develops leading edge radiation detection and identification devices. Our handheld systems can locate, measure and identify specific radioactive sources as well as discriminate between naturally occurring, medical related and harmful sources. Our stationary, high performance spectral systems are designed to detect, monitor and analyze possible radiation sources either covertly or overtly.
EXPLOSIVES DETECTION
ICx offers a suite of handheld, portable and desktop explosives detectors for military grade explosives as well as those liquids used in the making of homemade explosive devices. The devices can be used at checkpoints for detecting those persons involved in the making of explosive devices or as a payload on unmanned ground vehicles in order to detect suspected explosive materials.
